Nishinokubo

Nishinokubo is beautifully sited in a hamlet overlooking idyllic rural scenery of stepped rice paddies. The husband and wife owners have opened their home up as a minpaku home-stay style accommodation allowing guests to envelope themselves in this tranquil and iconic landscape.

The warm and friendly host and hostess obviously delight in welcoming newcomers and old friends to Nishinokubo. In the surrounding fields and paddies they grow much of their own food and with this they prepare simply delicious fare. They are a detailed knowledge about their region and are more than happy to chat at length, especially over a cup of tea or glass of sake or two.

Guests stay in self-contained accommodation adjacent to the main house allowing a flexibility to suit a wide range of needs. Sited between Taketa town centre and the Kuju Mountains, Nishinokubo is an ideal base for a family or small group to explore the region, including Aso in neighbouring Kumamoto Prefecture.
