Toyo Ito Kitsuki

Ito began his career in Kiyonori Kikutake architectural practice, and he has employed younger leading architects Kuzuo Seijima and Ryue Nishizawa, who together created the SANAA architectural firm, and Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham, who together established the Klein Dytham practice in Tokyo. Ito’s body of work includes: Tower of Winds in Yokohama; Sendai Mediatheque; the 2002 temporary pavilion at the Serpentine Gallery in London; TOD's Omotesando and Mikimoto Buildings in Tokyo, VivoCity in Singapore; Toyo Ito Museum of Architecture in Imabari, Japan; National Taichung Theater in Taiwan; Museo Internacional del Barroco in Puebla, Mexico. In Oita, he designed the Notsuharu Town Hall in Oita City and Oita Agricultural Park in Kituski. Ito has been awarded with the RIBA Royal Gold Medal and Pritzker Prize.
